Home of the Pilgrims, Massachusetts embraces you with its rich history and quaint architecture.  A destination wedding on the shores of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard or Nantucket Island are just one of many options for you to choose from.  Boston offers a sophisticated “big city” feel and the natural beauty of central and western Massachusetts boast rural charm.

From the mountain communities in the Berkshires to the sun-kissed sand dunes of the Cape, there are tons of outdoor activities to wow your guests and culinary delights galore.  Lighthouses, museums, historic landmarks, quaint steepled churches and historic landmarks are found at every turn of the road.  Whether you picture exchanging your vows with the fall foliage as your backdrop, at a snowy mountain-top lodge, with spring flowers on Boston’s waterfront, or on the beach on one of the many islands off its coast, Massachusetts may be the perfect choice for your New England destination.

Quick Facts

  • Time Zone:  Eastern
  • Airport:  Boston Logan International Airport
  • Weather:   Massachusetts enjoys 4 distinct seasons with varied temperatures and precipitation evenly spread throughout the year.  July is the warmest and driest month with highs averaging in the 80’s and January is the coolest month with lows dipping into the 20’s at night and 30’s during the day.

Marriage Requirements

It is recommended that you check with county in which you intend to be married in to get specific requirements as they differ one to another.  There is a 3 day waiting period and you may be required to show a certified birth certificate when applying for a marriage license.  You may also need to wait 90days after a divorce is final before remarrying (check specific county). No blood tests or medical exams are required in Massachusetts.  Witnesses are not required, and the marriage license is valid for sixty days from the date of issue.
