Featured Etiquette Tip for Destination Weddings:

Q. We have several events planned for our destination wedding weekend. How do we inform and invite guests to these other get-togethers?

A. Send out a “save the date” card listing all planned activities so when guests are making their travel arrangements, they can plan accordingly. A few logistical tips you may include:

Provide a way for the guests to RSVP to each even that requires and accurate count, as well as maps and other pertinent information.

Not all events need to be formal, costly or hosted. Depending upon your locale, a day at the beach, softball or volleyball games, trips to museums or theme parks, or a caravan to go wine tasting can be fun ways to gather friends and family. Each family may select to participate.

When a friend of family member is hosting a gathering, they may prefer to send out their own invitation and response cards.

If children have been invited to the wedding, you need to plan to include them in stead formal events, or provide childcare.

A website with the schedule of all activities is a great resource to keep guests updated. A website we recommend is ewedding.com. For a $10 discount use promotion code “DIDO.”
